Alums Find their Groove with Software Company
Aspiring musicians and the music school admissions officers who determine their fates have four recent alums to thank for streamlining auditions. 2009 graduates John Knific, Marc Plotkin, Eric Neuman and Kyle Napierkowski started the digital audition tool CitizenGroove from their Case Western Reserve University dorm rooms.
The software unburdens musicians and schools of the hand-off of multiple copies of CDs and DVDs, moving the process instead to an online portal where auditions are uploaded, downloaded and commented on.
Bloomberg Businessweek recently named the troupe among America's top 25 entrepreneurs under 25.
