The multimedia piece is a visual homage to Lake Erie's value and size and a tribute to its history as a shipping corridor that shaped Cleveland's industrial might.

The work is composed of 100 sheets of polyester film—each backed with gold leaf—fastened with brass rivets. Each sheet bears an image of the lake, pages from a freighter's logbook or a combination of the two, stitched together.
