Class of 1994

Francois Philippe-Champagne joined AMEC, an international engineering and project management company as Strategic Development Director last January. The company announced on Feb. 26, 2009 that Francois-Philippe has been selected as a Young Global Leader 2009 by the World Economic Forum (WEF). The Young Global Leader is a yearly honor bestowed to 200 to 300 young leaders under the age of forty who are committed to shaping the future of the world. Drawn from a pool of almost 5,000 candidates from around the world, the Young Global Leaders nominated in 2009 were chosen by a selection committee of 31 renowned international media leaders and chaired by H.M. Queen Rania Al Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Nirut Dej Udom, our very first LL.M. graduate from Thailand, ('94) has teamed up with his brother Bancha Dej Udom, who completed his LL.M. in 1996, to establish the law firm Bangkok Jurist Ltd.

Takahashi Sano (LLM 1994) is Manager of the Legal Department of the Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd.

Class of 1995

Jittima Srithaporn is with the Office of Thai Commercial Affairs, Royal Embassy of Thailand in Washington, D.C. She previously worked in the Thai Government Office of Intellectual Property. Jittima visits often with LLM classmate Keiko Bjorkman who enjoys two careers as legal consultant on Japanese Law and a very successful operatic contralto singer.

Yuri Tchopko has been appointed a judge to the commercial court of Ternopil region of Ukraine. Yuri was told by the State Judicial Administration that he will be the first judge in modern Ukrainian history to hold a law degree from an American university. This is a five year appointment after which Ukrainian judges are eligible for life tenure which can only be granted by Verhovna Rada (the Parliament). The Ukrainian commercial courts hear disputes between legal entities and/or individual entrepreneurs, anti-monopoly matters, bankruptcies as well as corporate disputes.

Class of 1996

James Mitchell, solicitor, is now with INEOS Technologies, as IP/Legal Counsel, part of INEOS Europe Ltd., located in Lyndhurst, U.K.

Supoj Ratansirivilai is deputy managing director of Syler Group Co., Ltd., and proud father of two daughters.

Watcharapong Wilawan (LLM 1996) is a Judge in the Civil Court in Bangkok.

Class of 1998

Sasirat Chairat is a judge of the Supreme Court of Thailand and has recently been married.

Dr. Yusuf Caliskan was recently promoted to associate professor of law at Kocaeli University School of Law and also serves as vice dean of the law school. Yusuf often recommends students to our program.

Ruengrit Pooprasert is a partner in the law firm of Zaid Ibrahim & Co. (Thailand) Ltd.

Karla Saliba relocated to Dubai from Lebanon and works for the Al Tamimi Law Firm. She recently welcomed the birth of daughter Maria. Her son Gerard is 3 years old.

Chansin Tangburanakij is Intellectual Property lawyer with Baker & McKenzie in Bangkok, and proud father of two.

Class of 1999

Micol Cecci Corbo welcomed birth of a son in August 2008; she also has a four-year-old daughter. Micol practices Intellectual Property law in Memphis, Tenn.

Thidarat (Aruninta) Sethavaravichit is Secretary to the Board of Directors of the Ayudhya Bank (or BAY). She is also a proud mother of lovely 4-year-old daughter.

Siriyot Pronanunt recently joined the legal department of Ayudhya Pic., the fifth largest bank in Thailand, as vice president.

Somprasong Panjalak is now a partner in the law firm of Baker McKenzie, Bangkok office.

Maxim Yasus completed his Ph.D. in St. Petersburg State University and has had an illustrious career as corporate lawyer in the past decade. Most recently, Maxim has devoted himself to teaching law in Irkutsk and has been chosen to be Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Columbia Law School in New York for the Fall 2010 Semester.

Cornel Franken recently married and brought his wife to visit Cleveland and the law school. They spent time with LL.M. J.D. mentor Ed Wadding.

Class of 2001

Kai Bitter, wife, Sara (J.D. alumna), and son, Austin, moved to the U.S. from Germany. Kai is with the law firm of Frost Brown Todd in Cincinnati, Ohio, which is Sara's hometown.

Krissanasak Treechantapagorn and spouse Kitiya Pimparatana (LL.M. '02) live in Atlanta, Ga., and are proud parents of a 16-month-year-old son. Kriss works as QC Manager at Advantage Biometric Group and Kitiya is with Molnlycke Health Care US, LLC.

Pongrat Khamdon and spouse Lalita Wongwattanant (LL.M. '02) are proud parents of baby daughter, Nicky. (See Bangkok reunion pictures). Pongrat is inhouse lawyer for the Bangkok Steel Industry Public Company Limited. His work brings him to visit steel companies in the U.S.

Dome Padungchewit and spouse, Arunrat Tungteerapattharakij, both LL.M. '01, are also proud parents of baby boy, Leader. Dome is with White & Case in Bangkok, and Arunrat works part-time as a lawyer for Pepsi Cola Co. in Bangkok.

Sejal Shah works as legal advisor for a U.S.-based company D.E. Shaw India Software Private in Hyderabad, India. She is proud mother of a 2-year-old daughter.

Abdulaziz Al-Jarallah head of legal office of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in London, UK.


Chetan Nagendra has relocated to the UK office of his firm HARNEYS; he is head of India Practice, Investment Funds & Regulatory.

Imer Berisha has been appointed legal consul to the Consulate General of the Republic of Kosovo in New York City.

Class of 2002

Kamornwan Chinthammit is corporate compliance officer of the Ksigroup (Sugar Industry) companies in Bangkok.

Arif Nursatrio heads the legal department of Pt. Karyamegah Adijaya-Aora TV in Indonesia. Besides handling all corporate matters within the company, Arif deals with many international TV channels to be included in local platform.

Amporn Pattanapanyasat is assistant manager, legal department of Prudential Life Assurance (Thailand) Public Co. Ltd.

Wenchen Jacqueline Tang completed her J.D. degree in Georgetown and is with the law firm of Clifford Chance in New York City.

Vassili Touline received his J.D. from our law school on May 17, 2009.

Yi-Fei Ivy Wu organized the LL.M. reunion in Shanghai for Prof. Jon Groetzinger, which was held on March 21, 2009. Ivy works for Micron China as legal affairs manager and was instrumental in organizing visits for Prof. Groetzinger to several law schools.

Khalid Al-Khatter is director of the Audit Bureau of Qatar.

Dr. Chao-Yi Leo Wu is General Counsel of the Chroma ATE Inc, an IT company in Taiwan. He holds a SJD degree from University of Illinois.

Claire Huaying Ye (JD '06) is now with the Run Ming Law Office in Beijing.

Jingsong Zhang is with Linklaters in their Hong Kong office.

Class of 2003

Dr. Ahmed Alsaif received his Ph.D. degree from Newcastle Law School in the U.K. His dissertation is entitled 'The Rights of Disabled Person and Discrimination.' The university has recommended that his thesis be placed as relevant reference and background for the International Convention for the Protection of Rights of Disabled Persons.

Maaria Ashraf is working for the Hatim S. Zu'bi & Partners Law Firm in Namana, Bahrain.

Kittitkhorn Bunyakiat is with Baker & McKenzie law firm in Bangkok.

Antje Daub is completing her Ph.D. in sociology at Case Western Reserve University.

Suzana Dixon is with Litigation Management Inc. in Cleveland.

Svetlana Kats is a solo practitioner in Lyndhurst, Ohio. She recently took an LL.M. intern for a summer internship.

Xuan Maggie Lu works in law offices of Elaine Chang & Assoc. in Washington, D.C.

Jiandong Xu is head of Legal Dept. for Greater China of Carestream Health Co., a U.S. company with H.Q. in Rochester, NY.

Hanyun Huang is a first-year JD student at University of Georgia. She passed the New York bar a few years ago and has been working at various firms in Atlanta region. More recently she started her own immigration law practice.

Class of 2004

Silja Bornschlegl has returned to Germany and is with the same company as in the U.S., Degussa Corporation, now known as Evonik Industries AG. She is working in the Compliance and Corporate Governance department.

Michel Kabano has accepted a new role with Energy Services Finance at the headquarters in Atlanta, GA. His primary responsibility will be providing a full scope of Human Resources leadership for Finance teams of Power Gen Services (PGS) including Contractual Services (CS) and Power Services (PS). He will also support P&RS Finance organization and work on integration initiatives across ES Finance.

Nazirbek Nazirov and wife welcomed the birth of their son in July 2008. Nazirbek works as patent attorney for Patents, Designs, Trademarks, Geographical Indications, Republic of Tajikistan.

Issaree Suthibodee is a judge in Thailand. Her brother, Thanasorn ("Max") received his LL.M. in 2008. Their father, the Hon. Judge Suthibodee, Deputy Chief Justice of the Thai Supreme Court, hosted a dinner for Adria Sankovic, Bangkok Reunion in December 2008.

Edyta Zydorek recently started her own practice, Zydorek Law Office, LLC. She is concentrating her practice in international business with a focus on China and has taken one of our current LL.M. graduates for a summer internship.

Thanawat Songwathana has been promoted a partner in the law firm, AIL Co. Ltd. in Bangkok.

Edyta Zydorek has left her private practice in Cleveland and relocated to Irving, Texas. She has a new position as international counsel for the NCH Corporation. Her focus is on Asia/Pacific.

Wei Fei is Senior Legal Manger for Hengan Standard Life Insurance Co.

Aura Lopez is the Manger of International Medical Education for the Cleveland Clinic. She was recently named as one of "Top 40 Under 40 Young Professionals" by Craine's Business News. Aura travels all over the world for the Cleveland Clinic, and more recently to the new clinic in Dubai. She hopes to catch up with her LL.M. colleagues in Dubai on her next trip.

Alyne Mariaria-Cistone is proud mother of infant son and teaches International Law at Ursuline College, located in the Cleveland suburb of Pepper Pike.

Nantharat Techama is a professor at Ramkhamhaeng University, Bangkok, teaching Civil Procedure, Bankruptcy Law, Business Law and Succession.

Dae Hyun Chung has completed joint M.B.A./J.D. degree from Weatherhead School of Management and our law school on Sunday, May 17, 2009.

Chaiwat Keratisuthisathorn is with the law firm of Tilleke & Gibbins in Bangkok. He recently hosted a visit by Adria Sankovic, assistant director, to the firm.

Menghui Christina Lin works in the Intellectual Property & Legal Div. of Chi Mei Optoelectornics Corp. in Taiwan.

Thunyalak Kamonmuneechote married J.D. alum David Lawrence. They recently welcomed the birth of a daughter and live in Chicago, Ill.

Jaruwan Sirirangsi recently passed the Judges exam and is a judge in training.

Dae-hyun Chung (JD '09) has passed the New Jersey bar and works for the Law Offices of Joe Zhnghong Zhou & Assoc. PLLC in New York City.

Krittapot Sunthornphak works as IP lawyer for the Kamthorn Surachet & Somsak Ltd. He also completed a Master of Finance degree at Kasetsart University of Thailand.

Dr. Ozden Deniz received her Ph.D. from American University May 2010 in the area of corporate governance.

Pushmeet Bhatia passed the New York Bar and currently resides in Washington, D.C., with her husband and daughters, who are six months and one year old.

Kuangshi Cao, Inna Safran, Yedga Sikod and Lei Zhu are rising 3L J.D. students at Case Western Reserve School of Law.

Jyothshna Jha Mishra passed the Ohio Bar and works for an immigration law firm in Cleveland.

Teerawat Jack Kaenmuang recently passed the judge's exam in Thailand.

Anuradha Lall has a successful legal practice in Gurgaon, India and has represented US and German Companies in both dispute resolution and corporate transactions.

Anurdah Lall returned home to India and resumed private practice, Chambers of Anuradha Lall, in Haryana, India.

Min Sheng is a rising 2L J.D. student in our law school.

Punpijit Mim Wasuwanich is with the law firm of Tilleke & Gibbins in their Phukhet, Thailand, office.

Anand Bhushan has been appointed to the position of Associate General Counsel for Cognizant Technology Solutions in India.

Kuangshi Cao, LingLing Ni, Inna Safran and Lei Zhu received their J.D. from our Law School this May, 2010.

Kasidia Aon is legal officer and consultant at DENSO International Asia Co., Ltd. in Bangkok, Thailand.

Jordane Fura passed the New York Bar and is an associate with the law firm of Yormick & Associates. She also serves as the coordinator of the Erie County (Buffalo) Bar Association's Sister City Bar Association relationship with the Lille Bar Association in France. She is a founding member of the Young Professionals Group of the French-American Chamber of Commerce and has recently been appointed as Events Manager of the French-American Chamber of Commerce. Jordane has published several articles in the American Society of International Law.

Yan "Nancy" Liang passed the New York Bar.

Thanasorn Sutthibodee and Praepwan Laipanya are law instructors at the Rangkhamhaeng Law School in Bangkok. As junior faculty members, they often travel and lecture on campuses across Thailand and assist senior faculty as well as teach.

Meng Wang passed the New York Bar.

Siegfried Zachhuber is with the law firm of DLA Piper in Vienna, Austria.

Vanvipa Chouvaparannte, Sasitorn Sangcharoen, Junthorn Meechuen and Chayasorn Tanthawewongs have passed the rigorous Judges' exam and are all judges-in-training at the Criminal Court in Bangkok.

Morgane Tidghi has passed the French Bar, completed an LLM in European Litigation at University of Luxembourg and is now in a Ph.D. Program at the same university; her Ph.D. study is in European Law.

Chenxie Yu is legal assistant at Shanghai Diamond Legal Law Firm in China.

Shreya Matilal is Assistant Professor at Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, Indian Institute of Technology in Khararpur, India. His article on "Pharma Data Exclusively" based on his LL.M. research paper, was published in the May issue of European Intellectual Property Review.

Athichon Angkimantana is Legal Specialist at Mitsubishi Turbocharger Asia in Bangkok.

Apisate Panyavut is in the legal department of Bangkok Airways, concentrating on trademark, copyright and insurance issues. Following his LLM studies, he spend some time on a spiritual journey as a Buddhist monk.

Bianca Trevisani has joined the law firm of Cerdeira Chohfi Advogados e Consultores Legais in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Honghe Leo Lin has joined the law firm of JunZeJun in Beijing.

Yaosong Will Lu is with Yaoling Law Offices. Last year he passed both the New York bar and upon return to China, the PRC bar.

Viroon Sunittramat is with the law firm FBLP Legal Co., Ltd. in Bangkok.

Yina Zheng has a legal director position in Keli Group, a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard.

Xin Kevin Wang has joined the law firm of King & Wood in Shenzhen, China, close to Hong Kong.

Xiaoxi Wang works for Staples, US office supply company in Shanghai.
