What do I need to do to get started?

To access the CWRU lynda.com service, a CWRU Network ID is required. If your CWRU Network ID is not activated or you do not remember your account password, please contact the ITS Service Desk at 216.368.HELP (4357) for assistance.

Appropriate network bandwidth is essential to an optimal video-streaming experience. It is recommended that your network have a downstream bandwidth of at least 100Kbps or higher. If you are off campus, please contact your Internet service provider and learn about your Internet plan. You can also check your current connection speed here.

For users with Mac Snow Leopard or the 64 bit version of IE with a 64 bit version of Windows, please click here to learn about the special troubleshooting information for your computer.

Other requirements:
  • Internet Explorer 7.0 or above, Firefox 3.0 or above, or Safari 2.0 or above.
    (Users of 64-bit Internet Explorer 7, please try a different browser)
  • JavaScript and Cookies must also be enabled.
  • Apple QuickTime 7.5 or above. (Mac Safari users please download QuickTime 7.5.5 or newer to avoid problems with captioning)
  • Microsoft Windows XP SP2, Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows 7, Macintosh OS X or Linux.
  • Windows Media Player version 10 or higher.
