The University forms Strategic Technology Partnerships with vendors who:
- Have technological goals in line with the University's strategic technology directions.
- Can provide products and services to the University, the Strategic Technology Alliance (STA), the students, faculty and staff of the University and the STA.
- Are willing to participate with the University and the STA in collaborative technology initiatives.
- Are willing to commit its organization to a minimum four (4) year commitment to the Strategic Technology Partnership.
Cooperative Efforts
The University and the Strategic Technology Affiliates expect that a Strategic Technology Partnership is much more than a sales relationship. Our definition of a Strategic Technology Partnership is one that contains a set of cooperative efforts of the University, Strategic Technology Affiliates (Strategic Technology Alliance) and the Vendor. Some of the cooperative efforts include, but are not limited to the following.

The Strategic Technology Alliance and the Vendor will jointly market, promote and participate in other activities relating to Vendor's Products and Services to
- the Strategic Technology Alliance,
- faculty, students and staff of the Strategic Technology Alliance.
- The Strategic Technology Alliance and the Vendor will jointly work toward placing at least 70% of all institutional orders on-line through the web-based Vendor e-Commerce web site.
- The Vendor will:
- Provide alpha products to the Strategic Technology Alliance from time to time for review and assessment.
- Provide beta products to the Strategic Technology Alliance from time to time for review and assessment.
- Provide the Strategic Technology Alliance with membership and participation in the Vendor's technology advisory committees.
- Allow for the expansion of the scope of the Integrated Technology Partnership to include OARnet and its academic members.
- Provide reasonable quantities of Vendor Products for the Strategic Technology Alliance's interoperability laboratories and engineering support.
- Provide advanced notice and briefings of forthcoming products and services.
- Participate in joint research, development, and testing with the Strategic Technology Alliance and other Strategic Technology Alliance vendor partners.
- Participate in and support for the Strategic Technology Alliance's advanced technical programs, fairs and initiatives; including financial sponsorship, participation of speakers and/or panel participants, product displays and demonstrations.
- Provide a yearly paid student intern position for a Strategic Technology Alliance student.
- Participate in the yearly Strategic Technology Alliance's graduate placement activities and other on-campus recruiting activities.
- Participate in and/or support the Strategic Technology Alliance's technical programs, activities and initiatives; including financial sponsorship, participation of speakers and/or panel participants, and product displays and demonstrations.
- Participate in joint national and international technical presentations and demonstrations; including financial sponsorship, participation of speakers and/or panel participants, and product displays and demonstrations.
