Case Google Apps

Case Google Apps is a new collaboration suite of services that includes a 7+ GB case.edu email account, a Google calendar, access to Google Sites, and Google Talk (IM).  Students have already been moved to Google Apps.

Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and affiliates should move themselves to Google Apps before February, 2010. 

1. To sign up for Google Apps, follow this provisioning link.

2. Sign in using your Case User ID and password.  Choose the radio button Send my Case email to Google Apps (webmail.case.edu) Click the Save button.

3. Type in your password twice. Click Reset Password.

4. Log into Google at http://webmail.case.edu and agree to the Terms of Service.

Instructions for Case Students

All students have already been provisioned with Google Mail accounts.  After activating your Case User ID, go to webmail.case.edu to set up your new mailbox.  This is the URL you should bookmark for accessing your Case Google Mail.  Click on the links below to print out instructions and information on setting up your Google Apps account.

Instructions for new Case Faculty & Staff

  1. Activate your Case User ID
  2. Go to webmail.case.edu to set up your new mailbox and agree to the Google Terms of Service.  This is the URL you should bookmark for accessing your Case Google Mail.  Click on the links below to print out instructions and information on setting up your Google Apps account.

Instructions for current Case Faculty & Staff

  1. Convert your mailbox to use Google Mail by going to the provisioning page at https://its-services.case.edu/my-case-identity/google-apps/ (Instructions).
  2. Then go to webmail.case.edu to set up your new mailbox and agree to the Google Terms of Service.  This is the URL you should bookmark for accessing your Case Google Mail. 
  3. After setting up your mail to use Google, you can use the Move Migration tool (Instructions) to move your old mail into your Google account.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have not already provisioned to Google Mail a Google account will be created for you as part of this mail migration and any iPlanet forwarding you have set up will be copied to your Google account.  Before mail forwarding will take effect, you must log in at http://webmail.case.edu and agree to the Google Terms of Service. If you do not log in and agree to the Google Terms of Service your mail will be placed in your Google mailbox and you will need to move that mail manually.

If you use a client such as Outlook or Thunderbird to read your email, print out the appropriate instructions for your IMAP or POP mailbox.
