FAQ - I don't have a Case ID (Case E-Mail)

What is Case ID?

Case ID sometimes called your Username or Login name, the Case User ID is the way our network knows who you are. Anytime you need to use something online, where it matters that you are an authentic Case User, you will be asked for your Case User ID. You will need to know your User ID to use services like email, the Software Center, and VPN. Note: your Case ID is case-sensitive; it should be entirely lower-case.

Why I need to request a Case ID?

You will need to request a Case ID to access all MediaVision courses.

How do I obtain a Case ID/Case E-Mail?

When you are accepted as a new student, staff or faculty member of Case Western Reserve University, your email account is automatically created! However, you need to activate the account to make it live.

Please note that you must be actively affiliated with Case as a faculty, staff, or student in order to have an active Case ID and password. Otherwise you must have obtained special permission in order to be able to apply for and obtain an account through this web page. Otherwise you may apply for an Affiliate ID.

If you are an Alumnus of the University you can get a CWRUser email account through the Alumni Department .
