WELCOME TO ITAC

Instructional Technology and Academic Computing (ITAC) is a department within Information Technology Services (ITS). We focus on current and emerging technologies which enhance creative teaching, effective learning and other academic initiatives at Case.

 

Collaboration Technology and Engaging the Campus 2008

Collaboration Technology and Engaging the Campus 2008 will take place on Thursday, May 8 from 9am - 4pm. This free symposium will feature a keynote address by Anthony D. Williams, co-author of Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything, an address by Case Western Reserve University President Barbara Snyder and panels on Learning 2.0 and Collaboration Technology.

Attendees can also choose from four breakout discussion tracks: Community Engagement, Mobile Discovery, The People Formerly Known as the Audience, and Blogs and Wikis. Event details, including registration information, can be found here.

For those unable to attend in person, it is possible to participate in Second Life after creating an avatar (instructions are available here.)

The event will also be streamed in new near-high definition streaming (H264) at http://mediavision.case.edu/H264/caselive.html.

190 Technology Enhanced Classrooms.

Maintaining a schedule of 30 MediaVision Courseware classes in the spring of 2008 (thus touching almost all first-year students).

Holding the first annual Faculty Technology Showcase, held October 30 2007.

Supporting the build out of the Freedman Center at Kelvin Smith Library.

Developing and implementing an aggressive assessment
strategy for ITAC projects and services.

Researching and developing new emerging technology for better teaching and learning environment (i.e. digital poster)

Ramping up faculty support and training workshops in educational technologies (i.e. Blackboard).
