Archive a Blackboard site

If you have a course site that you are not currently using, but you want to keep the materials for future reference or reuse, there are two options:

• You can download the relevant materials to your computer, and then remove the site from Blackboard.
• You can keep the site on Blackboard, but mark it as an old site to prevent confusion by setting the site's status to “unavailable”, and perhaps adding something to the site's title to distinguish it.

To make a Blackboard site unavailable:

1. Go to the course site within Blackboard.
2. Follow the “Customization” link in the Course Management menu at the lower left.
3. Follow the “Properties” link.
4. Under “Set Availability”, select “No”, and submit the form.
