The students left for Bangladesh on Dec. 26 and returned Jan. 9. While there, they spent eight days in the capital and four traveling to villages, hearing lectures, doing field studies and meeting with the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize Winner Muhammad Yunus. Additionally, they spent two days at the International Consortium for Social Development. The 16 students are from MSASS, Law, MNO and a variety of majors from the College of Arts and Sciences as well as from the College of Science and Engineering.
The Bangladesh trip, offered through International Education Programs at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, is a three-credit-hour course on Social Development and Micro-finance. Learn how you can join the program to Bangladesh for next year as well as other programs.
