How do I get my files onto the Aurora server?

The Aurora server uses WebDAV for the transfer of files. For more information visit the
Case wiki.

Why can't I telnet into the Aurora server?

Because you're not allowed to. Letting all the Aurora site maintainers have a shell account would just be way too much of a security risk, so we don't give them out. You can upload your files by ftp, but you cannot edit them in an Aurora shell account.

How do I get my Aurora page to have its own domain name?

You don't. If you maintain a page on the Aurora server, it will fall in the www.case.edu domain.

How do I turn over the account maintenance to someone else?

So that we can keep our records current, we ask that you notify us when an account changes hands. To do this, submit an
Aurora Project Inclusion Request Form. For security, we will change the password on the account after receiving the form.

You should mail or bring the form to the address on the form. You may also fax it, but please follow up with the original as we require the original signed copy for our records.

Does Aurora support secure transactions?

Yes. Information on how to do this is located in the
APAS toolkit.

Can I restrict access to my files?

Yes you can! The
APAS toolkit provides a very flexible way to restrict files and/or directories within your site.
