An outstanding library is key to an outstanding university. At Case Western Reserve University, the Kelvin Smith Library is more than a passive resource. It gives our students a competitive advantage in the professional and research marketplace.
Fully integrated into the intellectual life of the university, library programs and staff teach our students the tools to find solutions to their information and technology needs.
Gifts to the Kelvin Smith Library Fund support enhancements to collections; facilities; and teaching, learning, and research.
Kelvin Smith Library has 1.7 million volumes of print material and subscribes to over 300 research databases across a wide spectrum of disciplines and over 50,000 electronic journals.
The Kelvin Smith Library building is open to students and faculty 24/7 during the academic year. It offers an inviting space for both quiet study and collaboration. The building is also centrally located, making it both the intellectual and physical heart of campus.
The finest collection of resources can lose its value if users cannot effectively use them. Library professionals directly reach many thousands of students and scholars per year through programs designed to make them information-literate users who know how to find the right resource for their needs.
