SECURITY ALERT


THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AT: 4:11 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2003

TYPE OF INCIDENT: Robbery

LOCATION OF INCIDENT: West Quad parking garage, 1 Mt. Sinai Drive

INCIDENT DESCRIPTION: Four employees of the Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center were walking on the first level of the West Quad parking garage when they noticed an unidentified man standing by the east entrance booth. The suspect came up behind the employees, reached into one of his pockets as if he had a weapon and demanded money. Two of the employees fled, while the other two refused to hand over their wallets. The suspect grabbed a front pocket on each of the two employees’ pants, ripping both pockets. A scuffle ensued between the three men, and the suspect eventually fled, running north across Mt. Sinai Drive. Security on duty in the area pursued the suspect, eventually losing sight of him.

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: The suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 25 years old, 5’ 8” and of medium weight. He was wearing a blue Fubu t-shirt with white sleeves and jean shorts.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: None of the employees was injured, and the suspect did not take any property of value.
