Theft Advisory

Campus Police have received four reports of laptop computers being stolen since the first of the year.  The incidents have occurred on the main Quad and the Mather Quad and are listed below:

Wednesday, January 9th - 1:20pm to 1:55pm, a laptop was stolen from Mather Memorial

Monday, January 14th - 1:00pm to 1:30pm, a laptop was stolen from Haydn Hall.

Friday, January 18th - 11:30am to 11:40am, a laptop, cell phone, I-Pod and 3 books were stolen from Kent Hale Smith.

Tuesday, January 22nd - 10:20am to 11:10am, a laptop was stolen from White Building.

Two witnesses saw a man in the White Building acting suspiciously (wandering the halls, looking into rooms, avoiding eye contact etc.) just prior to the theft.

Campus Police reminds everyone to report suspicious activity immediately by calling the dispatch center at 368-3333 with a description and direction of travel of the suspicious person.  Also, be sure to secure any easy-to-carry items; especially laptops, cell phones and I-Pods in file cabinets or locked closets. A thief can strike quickly, so even if you will only be away from your valuables for a short time, lock them up or keep them with you.
