* This incident
occurred off campus and did not involve anyone from the University community.
However, because of the proximity to the University, Police and Security
Services would like the campus to be informed.

Time of Incident: 11:00pm (the
incident was not reported to police until 8:00pm on Saturday, February 9th,
2008).
Incident Description: An employee of
the Euclid Tavern stated that she left work at 10:55pm and walked toward her
car, parked in the Triangle parking lot.
As she was retrieving her car keys, a man approached her from behind and
asked for the work apron she was holding.
The suspect then threatened her, grabbed the apron and shook out the
contents; which included cash and her driver’s license. The suspect then fled toward

Suspect(s): The victim described the
suspect as a black male, 5’10” to 6’ tall, in his 20s, muscular build with a
shiny gold or silver bridge on his bottom teeth. The suspect was wearing a black baseball cap
with a black decal and price sticker still on it, and a black zip-up hooded
sweatshirt with multi-colored ghosts and Pac-Man emblems on it, dark colored
pants and tennis shoes. The suspect
spoke in a deep voice and smelled of gasoline.
Additional Information: The woman was not injured during the incident. If anyone has any information that may assist police in this case, please contact University Police & Security Services at 368-3333.

-To report a crime, suspicious activity or any
emergency, please immediately contact Campus Police Dispatch, 24 hours a day,
at 368-3333. Dispatchers will
direct the appropriate University and City responders for the situation.
- Campus Police and Security officers and University
Circle Police patrol the campus continually in patrol vehicles, utility
vehicles, bicycles, and on foot.
- Escorts are provided anywhere on campus and areas
immediately adjacent to campus. Request
an escort 24 hours by calling 368-3333
or by using emergency phones located throughout the campus.
- Protect yourself by using the campus bus service http://greenie.case.edu/ or the escort service rather than walking
alone. Jog or bike during daylight only
in areas you are familiar with and stay within University Circle http://www.universitycircle.org/uc_maps_parking.asp# if you live on campus. Let a responsible person know where you are
going, when you will return and how to contact you if you go somewhere alone
outside of your normal routine. Trust
your “gut” feelings and avoid persons and situations that make you feel
uncomfortable.
- Protect your belongings by locking your
office/room door every time you leave, don’t leave purses, book bags, laptops
and other valuables unattended. Keep
valuables out of site in your car. Don’t allow “tailgaters” to enter secured
doors behind you. Report thefts or suspicious activity immediately to Campus
Police.
