Type of Incident: Robbery
Location of Incident: North Side of Juniper Road, across from 11310

Date of Incident: Friday, August 29, 2008
Time of Incident: 1:30 a.m.
Incident Description: An unknown male walking from the west approached a
student on Juniper Road. The suspect asked the student a question, then stated
“wallet and phone” and grabbed at the student’s right rear pocket with his
hand, ripping the pocket. The student swung his elbow at the suspect and ran to
his residence on an adjacent street.
Description of Suspect(s): The suspect is described as a black man in
his mid-20s, without facial hair, about 6’ 1” and weighing around 200 pounds.
The suspect was wearing a black t-shirt, dark jeans with a design on the right
front leg and a dark colored Major League Baseball cap worn backward.
Additional Information: No weapon was seen during the incident, nor did
the suspect state that he had one in his possession. The student was not
injured and no theft occurred.

the campus continually in patrol vehicles, utility vehicles, bicycles and on
foot.
Escorts are provided anywhere on campus and in areas immediately
adjacent to campus. Request an escort anytime, 24 hours a day, by calling 368-3333
or by using emergency phones located throughout campus.
Rather than walking alone, protect yourself by using the campus bus

or the escort service. Jog or bike during daylight and only in areas with which
you are familiar. Stay within University Circle http://www.universitycircle.org/uc_maps_parking.asp#
if you live on campus. Let a responsible person know where you are going, when
you will return and how to contact you if you go somewhere alone outside of
your normal routine. Trust your “gut” feelings and avoid persons and situations
that make you feel uncomfortable.
Protect your belongings by locking your office or room door every time
you leave. Don’t leave purses, book bags, laptops and other valuables
unattended, and keep valuables out of site in your car. Don’t allow
“tailgaters” to enter secured doors behind you. Report thefts
or suspicious activity immediately to Case Police at 368-3333.
