One of Case Western Reserve University's most important assets is our
128-acre campus in the heart of Cleveland's University Circle. The Circle is
an association of more than 40 institutions dedicated to the advancement of
learning, science, medicine, religion, and the arts. It is also a 500-acre
preserve celebrating the graceful conjunction of culture and nature.
The best way to appreciate the beauty of our surroundings is to become a part
of them. We encourage visitors to walk through the carefully landscaped
campus and experience its pleasures firsthand. Approximately 1,700 trees and
uncountable shrubs grace the spaces between our 86 buildings. In addition
the John and Mildred Putnam Sculpture Collection provides 26 stunning
examples of work by regional artists, including many who live in Cleveland
and other parts of Ohio.
This Nature Walk will help acquaint visitors with distinctive features of the campus arboretum
through a self-guided tour. Trees and shrubs indicated on the North and South campus maps are identified
on-site with informative markers. |
