The Common Reading Selection Committee has selected The Working Poor: Invisible in America by David K. Shipler as the assigned summer reading for all new undergraduate students. The public lecture will be preceded by a reception at 11:30 a.m., sponsored by Alumni Relations.
The bookstore will be onsite to sell copies of Mr. Shipler's book in Amasa Stone Chapel. Following the lecture, the author will be signing his book in Amasa Stone Chapel.
This event is cosponsored by University Programs and Events, Alumni Relations, the Baker Nord Center for the Humanities, the College Scholars Program, and the Hallinan Project for Peace and Social Justice.
