Typically held on a Wednesday –Case for Community Day
has moved to a Friday this year to enable more faculty and students
to have the ability to participate during the Community Hour
(12:30p.m. to 2:00p.m.).
Created by the university's Staff Advisory Council's Community
Service Committee in 2002, this event was designed to dedicate
a half-day of community service for the entire campus. From
arts & crafts with youth and seniors, landscaping projects,
administrative assistance to an assortment of campus drives
– there is an opportunity for everyone to participate.
In addition, the university will launch the 5th annual Charity
Choice campaign to help raise funds for worthy organizations
comprised of Charity Choice agencies: United Way, Community
Shares and Earth Shares.
Case for Community Day is sponsored by the Center for Community
Partnerships and made possible by the tremendous support and
collaboration of many departments: The Offices of the President
and the Provost, University Relations, Staff Advisory Council,
Center for Civic Engagement and Learning, University Programs
and Events, Facilities Services, Office of Marketing and Communications,
Bon Appétit and our Charity Choice Federation Representatives.
A special thank you is extended to members of the 2007
Case for Community Day Planning Committee.
We hope you will join us!
Sincerely,
Latisha M. James
Director
Center for Community Partnerships
