The Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity provides a number of diversity awareness workshops and consultation services for students, faculty, and staff. In some cases, we develop a program specific to goals, participants, and time frame in order to accommodate the different classes, departments, offices, and student groups that request training.

 

Some sessions may be conducted jointly with other offices on campus.

The Faculty Diversity Officer and the Manager of Faculty, Diversity and Development, conduct training sessions throughout the year for faculty search process training:

 

Interrupting Bias during the Faculty Search Process

This session, explore barriers within the faculty search process that prevent the fair evaluation of underrepresented candidates.

 

Successfully Executing the Faculty Search Process

These sessions explains the process of posting faculty ads, under OFCCP and University requirements.

Each training session is mandatory prior to interviewing applicants.

We offer training for all campus demographics including Staff (exempt and non-exempt), undergraduate students, graduate student, and faculty. We can provide management centers, departments/divisions or school/college-wide presentations.

 

Please note that workshops for faculty, staff, and/or graduate students take approximately two hours, while workshops for undergraduate students take approximately one hour.
