Caring for African-American patients in private practice. Williams K, Demko C, Lalumandier J, Wotman S. JADA 2008: 139; 1218-1226. This paper compares services provided to 292 African American in 64 of the 120 practices in the Direct Observation Study to 1552 Caucasian patients in the same practices. Unlike in medical practice, there was little difference in observed services provided, while there were subtle differences in perceived dentist communications by patients. |
