Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why join a dental practice-based research network?
As a member of a research network, you will be offered oportunities to be involved in research that can impact the delivery of dentistry. Participation can include posing questions, offering and seeking feedback about new study ideas, and/or conducting studies in your office. It is also an opportunity to network with dental students, dental faculty, and colleagues from across Ohio.

2. If I join, do I have to participate in every CROWN study?
No. You will be notified of all upcoming studies, but you always have control of which study you would like to be a part of and your level of involvment. You are always free to withdraw from a study at any time.

3. How much extra time will it require from me?
This depends on each specific study. While some studies, such as the Direct Observation Study took minimal time, some studies may require training or other larger time involvement. Studies which require training courses are typically eligible for continuing education credits. Estimated time committment is always discussed upfront.

4. Can I suggest research ideas?
Absolutely. In fact, suggesting ideas for research is integral in developing a dynamic research network and encouraged. You may submit ideas now by emailing CROWN.
