Saturday, March 1: Commencement Registration Begins

All students attending any of the commencement ceremonies are required to register by Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 5 p.m. EDT Register now for commencement.

Wednesday, March 5: Doctoral Fitting

10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Gund Hall, School of Law.
Get measured for your regalia and get registered for commencement in a convenient one-stop shop! Staff will be available for assistance with commencement questions.

April 1: Registration Deadline

5 p.m. EDT Deadline for registering to participate in commencement online at the commencement website.

Tuesday, April 15 and Wednesday, April 16: Commencement Expo

11 a.m - 1:30 p.m.

Sunday, May 18: Commencement Day

Continental Breakfast available for graduates and guests: Gund Hall, School of Law

Convocation Robing Location and Line Up (Graduates): Lower Rotunda, Gund Hall, School of Law

9:30 a.m.

University Convocation: Veale Convocation Center
This is a ticketed event. All guests must have a ticket to attend the convocation ceremony in Veale Convocation Center. Overflow viewing will be available at the Ford Auditorium at the Allen Memorial Library and in the Moot Court Room (Gund Hall Room A59) of the School of Law.

11 a.m.

Luncheon Reception, School of Law
All graduates participating in the law diploma ceremony must report to their assigned assembly room to check-in as soon as they arrive at the law school building. At check-in, you’ll be given your procession and seat assignment, and we can assist you with your regalia, honor cords, etc. Please check-in as soon as you arrive in the law school building, before 12:30 p.m. at the latest.

After checking-in, you can enjoy the luncheon reception with your guests. All graduates must report back to the assembly room at 1 p.m. sharp for final instructions before the academic procession begins.

The academic procession will leave the law school at 1:15 p.m. and will pause on the East Boulevard lawn outside of the law school for group and family pictures. Your guests are encouraged to watch the academic procession and take pictures along the East Boulevard lawn. (Guests are not permitted to enter the assembly/robing areas at the Law School or Severance Hall.)

Severance Hall will open for guest seating at 1:40 p.m. The academic procession will enter the auditorium and the ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. All guests must have a ticket to attend the law diploma ceremony in Severance Hall.

Special Accommodations for Disabled Guests

If you require any special accommodations for disabled graduates or guests, be sure to let us know in advance. Complete and submit a “request for special accommodations” form by May 9. These forms are available in the Dean of Student Services at the Law School, Room 134.

Photographs

A professional photographer from GradImages will take a picture of each graduate receiving his or her diploma. Graduates will receive a free proof of this photo in the mail within 14 days after commencement, along with information on how to purchase additional prints. Since professional photographs will be available, family members and guests are encouraged to remain in their seats, relax and enjoy the ceremony.

To ensure the comfort and safety of everyone, guests may not block the aisles or sightlines of others during the ceremony. For safety reasons, guests are not permitted onto the stage area at Severance Hall.
