Ticket Information

The university-wide commencement convocation will be in Case Western Reserve University's Veale Convocation Center, beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 18. Since seating in Veale is limited, tickets for guests of graduates are issued for this event. Graduates do not need tickets for themselves, but must register online starting March 1, 2014 and before April 1, 2014, at 5 p.m. EDT to secure seats for their guests. Registered students will receive a maximum of two (2) tickets.

For diploma ceremonies, tickets are also required for the School of Law, the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences and the Weatherhead School of Management as noted on our commencement schedule.

Convocation tickets will be distributed through the professional schools and the Offices of Undergraduate Studies and Graduate Studies. Based on the number of graduates anticipated to participate in this year's convocation ceremony, extra tickets are NOT likely to be available. Should extra tickets become available graduates can request them by contacting the school from which they will receive their diploma (i.e. Graduate Studies).

Doors to the Veale Center open at 8 a.m.  Convocation guests must be seated by 9:15 a.m. Ticketed guests arriving later than 9:15 a.m. will be seated after the procession has entered the Veale Center, which may be after the start of the convocation ceremony.

Lost tickets are not replaceable. Students who have received tickets will not receive duplicates.

Overflow Viewing for Convocation

Guests without tickets to convocation are encouraged to view the ceremony at the overflow location nearest to their next destination. For those attending the undergraduate diploma ceremony, additional seating will be available in the Horsburgh Gymnasium (adjacent to the Convocation Center inside Veale). For those attending the graduate and professional schools' diploma ceremonies, overflow viewing will be available at the Ford Auditorium at the Allen Memorial Library. All overflow viewing locations will be equipped with large-screen video projection, providing an excellent view of the convocation ceremony. All overflow viewing locations are handicap accessible.
