The Musculoskeletal Mechanics and Materials Laboratory consists of over 3000 square feet of laboratory space in the Glennan Building and another 1000 square feet of space in the Wearn Building at the School of Medicine. The Materials Testing Laboratory includes 3 servohydraulic Instron loading frames, a screw-driven Instron materials testing device, and two Enduratec testing systems and a local precision machining center. The Image Processing Laboratory includes a custom-made serial grinding device for imaging tissue and fluorescent markers in three-dimensions and a Bioquant semi-automated histomorphometry system. The Specimen Processing and Analysis Laboratory provides facilities for quantitative analysis of specimen constituents as well as histochemistry and histology. The Implant Retrieval Laboratory, the Specimen Preparation Laboratory and the Electronics Laboratory all provide additional support for research.
