At the first break the Spartans led 55-38.

Call was again victorious in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:18.53 and Crummy won the 200-yard backstroke event in 2:14.18.

After the three-meter diving event, the Spartans trailed 102-101, but showed signs of upset potential against the Tigers.

Machala than came up huge for Case, winning the 200-yard breaststroke event in a sizzling time of 2:30.91, which brought the Spartans up to a 118-104 lead heading into the final event.

The Spartans held off Wittenberg for the victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay, as this was Case’s first win against the Tigers in over half a decade. Wittenberg had been red hot, winning four of its last five races, before being iced by the Spartans this afternoon.

Three Spartans were honored by Head Coach Chris Conlon at the Senior Recognition Ceremony prior to the meet. Stahl, Becca Winarski (Germantown, WI-pictured) and Furman were all gleaming from ear-to-ear up on the podium at their last home meet on the Spartans’ campus.

The Spartans travel to Meadville, PA next Saturday to take on the Gators of Allegheny College at 1:00 p.m.
