CLEVELAND, OH (November 30th, 2007)- The Case Western Reserve University women’s swimming and diving team had a solid day-two of competition at the College of Wooster Invitational.
Freshman Marine Gu (Longwood, FL) placed second overall in the 200-yard freestyle event, finishing in 1:59.73.
Sophomore Rachel Gostomelsky (Deerfield, IL) placed fifth in the 400-yard individual medley relay at 4:57.23 and junior Janine Machala (North Olmstead, OH-pictured) was fifth overall in the 100-yard breaststroke event, finishing in 1:10.73
The Spartan 800-yard freestyle relay team of senior Lindsey Stahl (Bellbrook, OH), Gu, freshman Amanda Timson (Livonia, OH) and freshman Kelly Chang (Fairfax Station, VA) placed fifth, with a time of 8:17.27
The Spartans continue day-three of competition later this afternoon in Wooster, Ohio.
