CLEVELAND, OH (November 18, 2006) -
Case Western Reserve University junior Lauren Preyss-pictured (Chagrin Falls, OH) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:51.96 (NCAA "A" - automatic). She was also victorious in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.24 (NCAA "B" - provisional). However, one swimmer deprieved her of three wins in individual events, as she placed second in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:12.18. Her efforts helped lead the Spartans to a 1-2 dual meet record at the Kenyon College Meet.
Case lost to host Kenyon 208-69 and Washington & Jefferson College 198-79. Conversely, the Spartans beat Grove City College, 164-86.
Junior Becca Winarski (Germantown, WI), junior Lauren Preyss, sophomore Betsy Howe (Ramstein, Germany), and freshman Christine Petzold (Bowie, MD) won the 200-yard freestyle relay team with a time of 1:41.94.
Case will travel to the College of Wooster Invite, Nov. 30 – Dec. 2.
