CLEVELAND, OH (October 28, 2006) -
Case Western Reserve University dropped their season opener 134-89 to Allegheny College today at the Veale Natatorium.
Case freshman Christine Petzold (Bowie, MD), sophomore Lisa McHale (Ridgefield, CT), junior Becca Winarski-pictured (Germantown, WI) and sophomore Janine Machala (North Olmsted, OH) all won individual events for the Spartans.
Spartan junior swimmer Becca Winarski had a great day. Winarski finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.49 and won the 100-yard freestyle (58:28). Case freshman Christine Petzold made a splash in her first collegiate meet. Petzold won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.56 and finished second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:19.89.
The Spartans travel to Carnegie Mellon for their next meet, an affair spanning November 4 and November 5.
