WITTENBERG 137, CASE 101 ...
SPRINGFIELD, OH (January 29, 2005) - In an afternoon dual meet in Springfield, Ohio, the Case Western Reserve University women's swimming and diving team lost to Wittenberg University 137-101.
Once again, Case senior Elaine Hillenmeyer (Carmel , IN) led the way for the Spartans with two first place individual finishes in the 200 yard IM (2:15.80) and in the 200 yard butterfly (2:13.57) where she just missed a NCAA B Cut (2:13.0). Carrie Stoila (Tallmadge, OH) took home first in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:41.70) as well.
Also swimming well for the Spartans was Hannah Webber (Oil City, PA) with seconds in the 200 yard freestyle (2:02.42) and 200 yard backstroke (2:14.23) and Becca Winarski (Germantown, WI) with a second in the 50 yard freestyle (26.39).
Case will get next weekend off as they prepare for the UAA Championships (Feb. 10-12) to be held at the University of Chicago.
