CARNEGIE MELLON 129, CASE 84...
CLEVELAND, OH (January 8, 2005) - The Case Western Reserve University women's swimming and diving team traveled to Pittsburgh, PA this afternoon for a dual meet with Carnegie Mellon University. Case fell to Carnegie Mellon, one of the top swimming teams in Division III, 129-84.
Leading the way for Case, as she's done all year, was senior Elaine Hillenmeyer (Carmel, IN) with a first place in the 100 yard butterfly (1:00.22) and a second place in the 50 yard freestyle (25.36). Also swimming well for the Spartans was freshman Elaine Hou (Columbus, IN) with two second place finishes in the 200 yard individual medley (2:20.49) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:20.90). Junior Hannah Webber (Oil City, PA) also claimed a second place by swimming the 200 yard freestyle in 2:03.82.
Case will host a tri-meet and a dual meet next weekend. SUNY Fredonia and Ohio Wesleyan will be in Cleveland for a tri-meet on Friday while the Spartans will take on the University of Rochester Saturday afternoon in a dual meet.
