CLAUDE B. SHARER TRI-MEET...
 CLEVELAND, OH (February 16, 2008) - The Case Western Reserve University wrestling team finished 2-0 this afternoon in the Claude B. Sharer Tri-Meet in Horsburgh Gymnasium, as the team defeated the Rochester Institute of Technology (26-22) and Muskingum College (27-22).
The Spartans will head to Crawfordsville, Ind. on Feb. 23 for the Midwest Regional, hosted by Wabash College. Matches are scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
In his first match against RIT's Josh Schneider, junior Drew Gardella (149; Sagamore Hills, OH) took an early 8-0 advantage in the first period after scoring two near-falls. Gardella would finish him off in the second period, scoring a pin-fall in 4:17 to bring the Spartans within a point. Gardella would win by forfeit in his second match against Muskingum to finish 2-0 on the afternoon, pushing his record to 17-3 this season (88-23 career).
Junior BJ Greenman (174; Port Allegheny, PA – pictured) was outstanding in his first match of the afternoon against RIT's Zach Feador, as Greenman grappled his way to a 15-0 majority decision to pull the Spartans within two points of the Tigers. In his second match against Muskingum's Chris Farrington, Greenman had a 4-2 advantage after the first period. Greenman hold on for a 6-2 decision to earn his second win of the day.
In the opening match, RIT defeated Muskingum, 35-18.
