BALDWIN WALLACE COLLEGE QUAD...
CLEVELAND, OH (November 10, 2007) - The Case Western Reserve University wrestling team competed in the Baldwin Wallace College Quad this afternoon and finished 1-2 on the day.
The Spartans defeated Waynesburg, 38-18, in their first match of the afternoon in Berea, as Drew Gardella (Sagamore Hills, OH), Dave Manoogian (Green, OH - pictured), Nate Klingensmith (Uniontown, PA), and Evan Malone (Leesburg, VA) all won in their first match of the afternoon. Gadella defeated Waynesburg freshman Steve Snyder by technical fall in his first match since winning the 149 lbs. title at the Messiah College Tournament last weekend.
In their second meet of the afternoon, the Spartans fell 37-12 to Mount St. Joseph, with Manoogian and Jonathan Howell (Atlanta, GA) winning their matches by pin-fall. Manoogian, a national qualifier last season, pinned Mount St. Joseph 's Tom Griffin in 4:06 to get his second victory of the season. Manoogian finished the afternoon undefeated, as he notched a 13-3 decision over BW's Cody Connell for his third win of the day.
The Spartans fell 35-7 to host BW in their final match.
The team will head down the road for a dual against John Carroll University on Nov. 13 in University Heights. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
