BALDWIN WALLACE 34, CASE 9 ...
BEREA, OH (February 17, 2005) - Baldwin Wallace College defeated the Case Western Reserve University wrestling team 34-9 in a dual meet this evening.
Recording the lone individual victory for the Spartans was Geoff Protz (Chesterland, OH) with an 11-6 decision over Scott Haber in the 141 pound weight class. The only other points for Case were by a forfeit at the 197-pound weight class.
Losing tough decisions for the Spartans were Russ Tischer (Parma, OH) at 157 pounds and Mike Sanchez (Dayton, OH) at 165 pounds. Tischer was defeated by Gino Russo in a close 3-2 decision while Sanchez lost a heartbreaker 2-1 in double overtime to Mike Heiland.
This dual meet concludes the regular season for Case with the Midwest Regionals taking place Saturday, February 26 at Manchester College.
