CLAUDE B. SHARER QUAD DUALS ...
CLEVELAND, OH (February 12, 2005) - The Case Western Reserve University wrestling team hosted the Claude B. Sharer Duals this afternoon in the Veale Center. The Spartans finished the day 1-2 as team with a 33-24 victory over Washington & Jefferson while losing 29-15 to the Rochester Institute of Technology and 23-14 to Muskingum College.
Mike Sanchez (Dayton, OH) led all Case wrestlers with a 3-0 individual record on the day. Sanchez had a pin in 2:25 in his first match at the 165 pound weight class and a 14-4 major decision in another 165 pound match. Sanchez bumped up to 174 pounds and was victorious 12-7 there as well.
Other undefeated Spartans on the day were Geoff Protz (Chesterland, OH) who was 2-0 at 141 pounds and Russ Tischer (Parma, OH) who finished 2-0 at 157 pounds.
The Case wrestlers will face cross-town rival Baldwin Wallace in a dual meet at 7:30 p.m. in Berea, Ohio on Thursday, February 17.
