CASE QUAD MEET ...
CLEVELAND, OH (November 13, 2004) - The Case Western Reserve University wrestling team hosted a quad meet with Baldwin Wallace, Mount St. Joseph, and Waynesburg (Pa.).
In the first contest, the Spartans were defeated by Waynesburg 29-15. The heavyweight match saw Ray Rowe (North Olmsted, OH) defeat Dan Goulart 9-3.
Case lost to Mount St. Joseph 41-9 in the second match-up of the afternoon. Geoff Protz (Chesterland, OH) was victorious for the Spartans with his 10-6 defeat of Julian Hall.
In the final match of the day, the Spartans lost to Baldwin Wallace 36-13. Geoff Protz got his second win of the day, this time 8-5 over Joe Smith. In the 165 pound match-up, Mike Sanchez (Dayton, OH) scored a major decision win, 8-0 over Brian Haines.
The Case Spartans will be back on the mat this upcoming Tuesday, November 16th at 7:00 p.m. at local rival John Carroll.
