NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS...
CLEVELAND, OH (March 15, 2008) - Case Western Reserve University senior Esther Erb earned All-America accolades today at the 2008 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio.
Erb, the 2008 University Athletic Association Women’s Most Outstanding Performer [Running Events], finished fourth in the 5,000-meter run in a personal best [indoor] time of 17:17.21.
“I knew two days before that she was going to do it,” said Assistant Track & Field and Head Cross Country Coach Kathy Lanese. “She came in not as confident as normal, but she stuck to our plan and ran a great race.”
The Richmond, Va. native was running at her eighth NCAA Championship and the All-America honor is her fourth overall - first in indoor track and field. Erb is a two-time All-American in cross country and brought home the big honor last spring in the 5,000-meter at the outdoor track and field nationals.
