UAA CHAMPIONSHIPS...
CLEVELAND, OH (March 8, 2008) - Case Western Reserve University senior Esther Erb (Richmond, VA-pictured) claimed two individual University Athletic Association (UAA) titles to lead the Spartans at the 2008 UAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Case Western Reserve’s Veale Center.
The Spartans women placed fourth (out of eight) with 39 points. The University of Chicago won the UAA women’s title with a score 151.
Erb won the one-mile run in a time of 5:06.33 and turned in a first place finish in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 10:24.58. She was also part of the Spartan's distance medley relay team of Erb, junior Kristen Bowhers (Rochester, NY), senior Sarah Gill (Sharpsville, PA) and freshman Bettina Kaphingst (Lewistown, NY) that won in a time of 12:27.26.
Junior Elizabeth Ehrke (Pewaukee, WI) placed second in the women’s weight throw with a NCAA Provisional mark of 15.57 meters to round out Case Western Reserve’s top performers.
