GREAT CLEVELAND CHAMPIONSHIPS...
CLEVELAND, OH (February 23, 2008) - The Case Western Reserve University women’s track and field team traveled to Baldwin Wallace College last night for the 2008 Greater Cleveland Championships hosted by Baldwin Wallace College. The Spartans placed seventh out of nine teams with a score of 36.50 points. Notre Dame College won the meet with a score of 159.
Case Western Reserve posted first place finishes in both running and field events. Junior Kristen Bowhers (Rochester, NY -pictured) won the one-mile in a time of 5:10.49 and junior Elizabth Ehrke (Pewaukee) finished first in the weight throw with a mark of 14.06 meters. Freshmn Bettina Kaphingst (Lewistown, NY) had a nice showing in the 800-meter run, placing fourth in a time of 2:27.81.
Case Western Reserve will be in action again on March 7-8 when they host the 2008 University Athletic Association Championships in the Veale Center. Click here for more information.
