SPARTAN RELAYS...
CLEVELAND, OH (January 26, 2008) - The Case Western Reserve University women's indoor track and field team kicked off its season at home today with the Spartan Relays.
Senior distance runner Esther Erb (Richmond, VA – pictured) had no problem picking up where she left off after a successful cross country season, as the All-American runner finished with a time of 10:32.40, taking home the title in the 3,000-meter run. Finishing just behind Erb was freshman Justine Jeroski (Murrysville, PA) at 10:33.01 and Kristen Bowhers (10:35.89) at 10:35.89.
Freshman distance runner Andrea Fischione (Export, PA) also ran well for the Spartans, as her time of 18:32.48 was tops in the 5,000-meter run.
Sophomore thrower Allison Early (Medina, OH) took home the title in the women's weight throw (12.84m), while junior Elizabeth Ehrke (Pewaukee, WI) finished in second in the women's weight throw (12.28m).
In the women's long jump, freshmen Kali Knolle (East Aurora, NY) and Katelyn Bush (Holland, MI) finished third and fourth, respectively.
The Spartans will be at home again next weekend for the Case Western Reserve University Invitational. Events are scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
