CLEVELAND, OH (December 2, 2006) - Case Western Reserve University senior guard Dana Dempsey (Brooklyn, OH) and junior forward Ashley Horton (Akron, OH-pictured) recorded team highs in points (18) and rebounds (12), respectively, as Case (5-1) defeated Grove City College (0-5) 70-58 tonight at Horsburgh Gymnasium in the Veale Center.
Grove City led 8-6 at the 16:44 mark in the first half, but senior guard Maria Jackson (Middlefield, OH) tied the game at eight apiece with a jump shot nine seconds later. From there, the Spartans went on a 21-9 run and took a 12-point advantage, 29-17, on a three-point field goal by freshman guard Ashleigh Tondo (McDonald, OH) with 5:50 left in the half.
