WOMEN'S BASKETBALL—2005-06

Case improves to 4-2 on the season while the Titans fall to 0-6. The Spartans will next host Kenyon College on December 7 at 7:30 p.m.

Case junior guard Danna Dempsey (Brooklyn, OH), a local Brooklyn High School product, scored 12 of her game total 14 points in the first half as her team led 41-29 at the break. Dempsey made four of seven three-pointers in the first 20 minutes as Westminster struggled from the field shooting just 35.3 percent (12-34).

During the first 13 minutes of the second half the Spartans went on a 20 to 12 run to jump out to a 20 point lead, 61-41 with 6:31 left in the game. The Titans, whose last lead was 4-2 at the 18:10 mark in the first, made just 6 of 30 shots in the last 20 minutes, ending the game shooting just 28.1 percent from the field.

Westminster had two players score in the double digits led by Emilee Ackerman's game high 19. Case out rebounded the Titans 56-43 in the contest.

The Spartans had two other players in double digits. Sophomore guard Mary Herendeen (Austinburg, OH) and junior guard Maria Jackson (Middlefield, OH) had 12 and 10 respectively.
