CLEVELAND, OH - Case Western Reserve University senior guard Jasmine Rowan (Richmond Heights, OH), a Hawken grad, scored a game high 24 points as the Spartans (8-9, 4-2 UAA) fell to Brandeis (13-3, 4-2 UAA) 68-69 at Horsburgh Gymnasium at the Veale Center. Keesha Allen (Cleveland, OH), a Regina grad, had a double-double for Case as she had 17 points and a team high 10 rebounds.
The first half was a defensive battle as neither team could generate much offense. The Spartans shot 33.3% (10-30) from the floor while Brandeis shot slightly better at 38.2%. Both teams had nine turnovers, but the Judges won the battle of the boards out rebounding the Spartans 25-17. Rowan had 13 points in the first 20 minutes while Angie Zeuch (Cincinnati, OH) added 12 of her 16 points.
Both teams came out much stronger on the offensive side of the ball in the second half. Brandeis shot 44.4% from the floor as they connected on 12 of 27 shots.
