CLEVELAND, OH - Case Western Reserve University (3-7, 0-0 UAA) senior guard Jasmine Rowan (Richmond Hts., OH), a Hawken graduate, scored a game high 24 points as the Spartans snapped a two game losing streak tonight at Horsburgh Gymnasium in the Veale Center with a 64-54 victory over Kenyon College (5-7, 2-2 NCAC).
Kenyon hit the boards in the first half out rebounding Case 25 to 18 to take a 31-29 lead into the intermission. The Spartans turn the ball over 11 times in the first 20 minutes but hung on with the shooting of Rowan. She connected on 4 of 7 from the field including 2 of 3 from behind the arc to score 11 in the half.
Case out rebounded the Ladies in the second half 26 to 16 (44-41 in the game) as Rowan pored in 13 more points, finishing the game 8 of 16 from the field and 5 of 10 from behind the arc. The Spartans had only one other player in double digits. Sophomore forward Andrea Haylett (Mantua, OH) scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
Junior guard Dana Halicki (North Royalton, OH), a Padua graduate, led Kenyon with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Case travels to Westminster College (PA) this Monday for a 7:00 p.m. game.
