BETHANY, WV- Case Western Reserve University (2-5) sophomore forward Andrea Haylett (Mantua, OH) scored a game and career high 23 points to help the Spartans snap a five game losing streak this afternoon with 74-63 win against Washington & Jefferson College (3-2) at Bethany College.
Haylett, who also grabbed a game high eight rebounds, had 15 of her points in the first half as Case forced the Presidents to turn the ball over 10 times (18 in the game) and led 34-26 at the break.
The Spartans hit the boards in the second half out rebounding W&J 21-14 in the last 20 minutes (39-35 in the game) to post their first win since their home opener on November 21.
Case senior guard Angie Zeuch (Cincinnati, OH) connected of three of seven from behind the arc on her way to 11 points in the contest. Spartan sophomore guard Amber Hammell (Parkersburg, WV) also had 11. Sophomore guard Leigh Sulkowski (Upper St. Clair, PA) led the Presidents with 22 points.
The Spartans do not play again until December 30 when they travel to Allegheny College.
