WOMEN'S BASKETBALL—2003

Case led 39-18 at the half as Zeuch connected on 6 of 8 from the field, including 4-5 from behind the arch for 16 points in the first 20 minutes. The Spartans cooled off in the second half only connecting on 11 of 40 (27.5%) shots, but managed to out score Oberlin 32-20 and win their season opener.

Case freshman guard Dana Dempsey (Brooklyn, OH), a Brooklyn graduate, scored 12 points and handed out 3 assists in her collegiate debut. Spartan sophomore guard Amber Hammell (Parkersburg, WV) rounded out the teams double digit scorers with 10 points.

The Spartans will face Baldwin Wallace College, who defeated Notre Dame College 78-60 in game two, tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. in the Championship game.
