MEN'S SWIMMING—2007-08

Westminster College took the gold with 1,671 points, followed by Wooster in second with 1,636 points and the Spartans in third place with 1,296.50 points.

Top day-three individual performances went to sophomore Kevin Alland (Buffalo Grove, IL), who placed second overall in the 1650-yard freestyle event with a time of 16:46.95 and freshman Chris Marquiss (Solon, OH), who was fifth overall in the 100-yard freestyle at 48.61.

The Spartans 400-yard freestyle relay team of Marquiss, sophomore Dan Wolak (La Grange Park, IL), sophomore Bryan Saltzman (Buffalo Grove, IL) and senior Drew Kouri (Marysville, OH-pictured) placed third overall with a time of 3:13.77. Picture

In a grueling three-day tournament at Wooster High School, the Spartans proved they can compete against the best in their region.

The College of Wooster won the overall competition with 3,244 points. Westminster College finished second with 2,585 points and the Spartans took the bronze at 2,299 points.

The Spartans are on winter break and do not return to the water until January 12th, 2008 when they host the Carnegie Mellon Tartans at the Veale Natatorium in Cleveland, Ohio.
