CLEVELAND, OH (October 29TH, 2007) - The 22nd ranked Case Western Reserve University men’s swimming team split two dual meets at the University of Rochester Tri-Meet in Rochester, New York. Case defeated the University of Rochester 170.5-113.5, but lost to New York University 192-106.
The Spartan 200-yard medley relay team of sophomore Robbie Browning (Grosse Pointe, MI), junior Drew Kouri (Marysville, OH), junior John Somerville (Bloomfield Hills, MI) and sophomore Daniel Wolak (La Grange Park, IL) placed first overall with a time of 1:38.58.
Case Western had three individual champions as Browning placed first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 54.27, freshman Chris Marquiss (Solon, OH) won the 50-yard freestyle at 21.82 and Kouri held off Brad Hartstein of New York University by .11 seconds to place first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.37.
Case Western Reserve hosts their annual Veale Classic on November ninth and 10th at the Veale Center Natatorium in Cleveland, Ohio.
