SUNY FREDONIA QUAD MEET...
FREDONIA, NY (January 21, 2006) - The Case Western Reserve swimming and diving team had three individual first place finishers and won both relay events today in a quad meet at SUNY Fredonia in Fredonia, NY. Along with SUNY Fredonia, the Spartans also competed against Ithaca College and fellow UAA-rival University of Rochester. 
Spartan junior John Erickson - pictured (Massillon, OH) swam the fastest time in the 50 yard freestyle to finish in first place in 22.40. Case freshmen Seth Hazlett (Leechburg, PA) was victorious in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 1:58.49. Justin Daggett (Bradford, PA) rounded out the Spartan trio of individual first place finishers with his time of 49.34 in the 100 yard freestyle.
Also swimming well for Case was An-Shih Lee (Woodbury, NY) who took second in the 200 yard breaststroke with his time of 2:20.75. Spartan diver Bernie Jacobson (Solon, OH) took the second spot in the one meter diving event with 179.20 points. Also coming in second place for the Spartans were John Somerville (Bloomfield Hills, MI), Daggett, and Erickson. Somerville was second in the 400 yard IM (4:23.83), Daggett was second in 1,000 yard freestyle (10:10.59), and Erickson finished second in the 50 yard freestyle (22.43).
Case will host a dual meet with Wittenberg University visiting the Veale Natatorium next Saturday.
