CLEVELAND, OH (November 16, 2005) - The Case men traveled downtown this evening for a swimming and diving meet at Cleveland State University. The Spartans defeated Baldwin Wallace College 129-100, Gannon University 176-61, and Oberlin College 186-46. Case's only loss was to the host Division I Cleveland State Vikings 162-74.
Leading the way for Case was senior Pat Rodjom (Pittsburgh, PA). Rodjom won the 100-yard breaststroke
in a time of 59.13
and placed second in the 100-yard butterfly in 54.10. Spartan senior Chris Cook (Columbus, OH) was also solid as he took home a second and third place. Cook was second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.07) and third in the 100-yard freestyle (48.56) behind only swimmers from Cleveland State.
In relay competition, Case placed second in the 200-yard medley relay. Also swimming placing in the top three for Case were Justin Daggett (Bradford, PA) and Bobby Malinoski (Pittsburgh, PA). Daggett finished third in the 200-yard IM in 2:03.94 and Malinoski was third in the 100-yard backstroke in 57.33.
This Saturday, Case will host a tri-meet at the Veale Natatorium with Grove City College and Kenyon College coming to visit.
